Kumbla, formerly known as Cumbole, is a beautiful lagoon located 14 km north-west of Kasargod in Kerala. It is separated from the sea by a sand pit and connected by a narrow channel. The place was the erstwhile capital of the Ruluva country, which extended over the Kasargod District.
The major attraction is Sree Parthasarathi Temple (at Munjankavu). A holy dip in the sacred tank of the temple, after taking three pradakshinams (rounds) and offering a handful of navadhanyams, is believed to remove all warty growths from the body.
Gopalakrishna Temple, Ananthapuram (5 km), Madwa and Mangalpady (north) are some other spots worth visiting.
Kumbla Railway Station is the local railhead. The nearest major access points are Kasargod Railway Station and Kasargod Bus Station.
