Neighborhood with a violent and crime-ridden reputation. The Charlotte Housing Authority (www.cha-nc.org) is applying for a $20 million grant to tear these homes down and build mixed-income apartments and condos similar to Seigle Point (just NE of the 277 loop uptown).
Two of the streets in this neighborhood were renamed in honor of two fallen police officers, John Burnette & Andy Nobles, who were shot in the line of duty here.
