Badara or Patara or Ptretsik (arm. Բադարա, Պատարա, Պտրեցիք) is a village in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the jurisdiction of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which actually controls the village, it is located in the Askeran region of the Republic of Artsakh, according to the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan - in the Khojaly region of Azerbaijan. Located at an altitude of 880 m.

History.
The village of Ptretsik (Arm. Պտրեցիք) was founded in the era of the Kingdom of Greater Armenia in the gavar (district) Harchlank (Armenian Հարճլանք) of Ashkhar (province) of Artsakh. According to the Caucasian calendar, this village was called Badara and was located in the Elizavetpol gubernia and was inhabited by Armenians. As of January 1, 1933, 1337 people (298 households) lived in the village of Badara in the Askeran region of the NKAR, all of them were Armenians.
Architecture.
In the village there are Armenian churches Okhtn Yeghtsi (12th century), Tsernaatak (1326) Amenaprkich (13th century), Surb Stepanos (1870) Armenian cemetery of 9th-13th centuries, Otskavank monastery (12th century), Ptretsik fortress (12th-13th centuries) Armenian khachkars (10th-13th centuries). From the village, along a mountain path, you can climb the Kachakakhaberd fortress located in the mountains at an altitude of 1706 meters above sea level (magpie fortress - Armenian Կաչաղակաբերդ).
