  • United Nations Security Council Resolution 853, adopted on 29 July 1993, condemned "the seizure of the district of Agdam and of all other recently occupied areas of the Azerbaijani Republic", and demanded unconditional withdrawal of occupying forces. Agdam rayon was occupied by the armenian military units on July 23, 1993. Due to Resolution 853 of the United Nations Security Council, these lands are considered occupied by local Armenian forces and demands immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of the occupying forces.
