Green Island was historically an island formed by the confluence of the Willamette and McKenzie Rivers near Coburg, Oregon, but the McKenzie jumped channels many years ago leaving it's status as an island in some doubt. The area was a privately owned farm until it was acquired in 2003 by the McKenzie River Trust for restoration purposes. The new owners have planted trees and enhanced habitat for fish and turtles by removing some levees and weeds, while farming continues in other parts of the island. mckenzieriver.org/land-in-restoration/green-island
