Loch Shliabh an Iolair (Mount Eagle Lake) is a small fresh water lake. Formed by volcanic activity many years ago. Rumoured to have a cave system, but exploration has proved to difficult. Celtic relics found in the area. Good footpath to lake and more difficult paths to the summit of Mount Eagle.
The area is famous for the beautiful fuchsia hedging planted by English landlords in times past.
