Colonel Allensworth this plot of land to the Northern California Baptist Convention in August of 1914, a few weeks before his untimely demise in Los Angeles.
Construction of the church began in 1915, under the direction of the Reverand J.L. Allen.
The church was completed in March of 1916.
The original church was torn down in 1967, and the current church is a recent reconstruction of the original.
