Shri veerabhadra mahammayi temple, Hosangady, Bangra Manjeshwara is a temple built by the king 'Bangarasa' before 1000 years. Mainly the god Veerabhadra, goddess Durgaparameshwari, goddess Mahammayi and the 'pariwra daiva's Dhoomavathi-Banta, Malaraya, Chamundeshwari, Babbarya, Korathi-Guliga and Naga are worshiped in this temple. This temple is renewed on feb 04, 2004. Temples of goddess Mahammayi and the Pariwara Daiva's are renewed in the year 2008.
Main celebrations in a year are yearly 'Mahapooja, Maripooja and Nemotsava for the pariwara daiva's; which comes on 4th and 5th of the month february in every year, Deepawali(according to sowramana calander) and 'Pathanaje'(which is last day for all jathras for that perticular year).
The temple is managed by the Padmashali or Shettigar cast families who are belonging to Manjeshwara 'Magane'. Families belonging to this temple are devided in to 7 villages. Each village has got one each leader hence 7 leaders are there who are called as 'Gurikaras'(moktesara). Gurikaras decide all happenings in the temple with the help of a elected commitee which is elected by all members of this temple.
Each pariwara daivas Dhoomavathi(Jumadi), Banta, Malaraya(Varahi), Chamundeshwari and the Goddess Mahammayi has got each representatives who were chosen by these divine spirits themselves. These divine spirits enter there representatives body and bless the devoties on main events explained above.
