The cathedral is situated in the top of the hill called Petrov and is visible from all parts of the city.
Originally a Romanesque basilica, later rebuilt in Gothic style. Its current neo-Gothic form dates back to the end of 19th century.
The public is allowed to climb in both towers and access the crypt.
