Boatwright Memorial Library, overlooking beautiful Westhampton Lake, is one of three libraries on campus. The library collections house more than one million books, journals, and periodicals, as well as extensive online resources. The Technology Learning Center and Media Resource Center are housed in Boatwright Library, and its administrative wing is home to the Academic Skills Center and the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. Boatwright Library was initially constructed in 1955 but has had two major additions since that time. It is named for Frederic W. Boatwright, president of the University for 51 years, from 1895-1946. The library also is home to 8:15 at Boatwright, the campus coffee and pastry shop, and the Lora Robins Gallery of Design from Nature, the University's natural sciences and decorative arts museum.
