Little Devil's Slide Military Reservation

USA / California / Montara /
 Second World War 1939-1945, pillbox

Originally, this FCS (fire control station) would have been embedded in the surrounding ground rather than sticking out like the sore thumb it is now.

In 1944, the Army acquired 13.70 feet acres by direct purchase and an additional 3.11 leased acres. Little Devil's Slide Military Reservation consisted of a fire control station for Battery 244 (Milagra Ridge Military Reservation) and the Flank Command and Observation Posts for for the Fort Funston Groupment. In 1958, the lease was terminated with the remainder sold to a private individual in 1960.
