St. Mary's Church & the Lincolnshire Rising
The Church of St. Mary's has the 13 scythe blades said to have been used in the Lincolnshire Rising of 1536. On the South Aisle wall is a memorial to Sir Ingram Hopton who was killed at the Civil War Battle of Winceby in 1643. The Battlefield site lies near Snipedales Country Park and Nature Reserve, east of the town.
On the north wall is a brass of Sir Lionel Dymoke of Scrivelsby wearing the armour of the King's Champion, and on the floor below a worn brass depicting him in his shroud, 1519.
