The former Metropolitan Summer Residence in Sibiu, a beautiful villa surrounded by a public garden (closed), was built around 1900 in Eclectic style, with the destination of "service home" of the Metropolitan bishop of Transylvania.
During the communist period, the House of Pioneers functioned here, the location being abandoned and in an advanced state of degradation since the 1990s.
The building and the land are returned to the Orthodox Church, the ensemble is classified as a historical monument, but the rehabilitation is delayed.
