Opened on 1 January 1898, the name of the building is a tribute to the conspiratorial movement exploded on November 30, 1640, by 56 patriots Portuguese with aim to liberate Portugal from the yoke of Castile (1580-1640). This designation is fully justified to the extent that their owners were all of Lusitanian origin and certainly endowed with remarkable fascination with their nation restored the power of King Philip IV of Spain.
