Established prior to 1139 AD. It was the smallest Free Imperial City of the Holy Roman Empire from 1218 until 1803 when it was secularized and was given to Baden. Home to Thomas Ruff, German Photographer and Anette (Bea) Leeder, Freelance Journalist(English & German).
