  • The place for hippie liberal trash to congregate.
  • Not a bad square as far as steps to sit on, a water fountains, and significant police presence... but if you're looking for cart food (a common venue for week-day lunchs in Portland) then there is much better to be had just blocks away. Also, the panhandlers here get annoying - it might be OK if they just ask for money but instead there's a five minute build up of some elaborate lie.
