This areas are paddy-fields.During the monsoon the river Chaliyar flows with all her mighty and the flood get easily leaked to this area.Even the management of the primary school situated nearby declares those period as holidays in view of safety of children.The local administrative body,the Vazhayur Grama Panchayath arranges Boat service during this time,connecting the main road with inner areas.
The 230V electric line run by the KSEB flys right above this area and it's been made powerless during strong flood.The flood period is a great time of entertainment for the local boys as they enjoy their time with some fishing,boating and even swimming!
The one which occured in 1994 was the strongest flood that the natives had vitnessed yet.
