Mount Tronador is named for the avalanches that thunder down the mountain sides and are loud enough to be heard miles away. It is 3,491 meters high and is the highest peak in Nahuel Huapi National Park. It has three peaks, "known as the Argentine (3,200 meters above sea level), the Chilean (3320 meters above sea level) and the International (3491 meters above sea level).
