The Indian Lake Community Club is an organization of approximately 500 households situated around a scenic 99-acre lake in the town of Denville, NJ. The lake association, which is private and requires membership, was founded in 1924.
Indian Lake has three beaches which are staffed with lifeguards during the summer. The main beach on East Shore Road is home to a large lakeside clubhouse and is a center of activity. Boating, fishing, tennis, basketball, horseshoes, and other sporting activities, such as water-skiing and tubing, are available.
The Indian Lake Community Club also offers year round structured programs and activities including swimming lessons, aerobics classes, dances, dinners, and other group events.
Some fun events include a pig-roast, a Lip-sync contest, a visit from Santa and the Easter Bunny, a Bass fishing contest, New Year's Eve party, Casino night, Clam Bake, and Monday Night football at our full service bar.
Many events are sponsored by the Woman’s Club, Men’s Club and Aquatic Club. Lake membership also entitles members to rent the clubhouse for private events.
At summer's end, the lake community elects a teenage King and Queen and has a gala coronation and celebration that culminates with a parade around the lake.
Indian Lake also belongs to the Hub Lakes association that includes a group of Morris County lakes. Hub Lakes provides a multi-sport competition league in which Indian Lake members of all ages can participate. Sports include volleyball, swimming, diving, softball, horseshoes, golf, track and others.
Information about lake activities can be found in the Indian Lake Crier, a monthly newsletter mailed to all the residents of the lake.
An elected board of officers and trustees administers the lake association. Each trustee has a designated area of service for which they are responsible.
