"Seoul Anglican Cathedral is not only the central church of Seoul Diocese but also the symbolic mother church of the Anglican Church of Korea.

Established a century ago, it has given out light during the dark ages of the nation and great hope, too, in times of frustration.

The present church building dates back to the 2nd of May, 1926. The third bishop Mark Trollope, designed and constructed it in the romanesque style. However, the church started working here before that. Bishop John Corfe who came to Korea for mission built the Church of the Advent right here in the midst of Seoul in 1890. Regular services have been held since the 1st of November, 1891, which we commemorate as the foundation day of the Seoul Anglican Cathedral."
