The Hipodromo race track was a popular place where horse races were held in the 1920s. It has been opened and closed several times since then most recently used for dog racing. The mayor of Tijuana, Jorge Hank Rohn, is the current owner of the property.
The immortal Seabiscuit won the Agua Caliente Handicap here in 1938. At the time, the race was the richest horserace in North America.
