The Fort Recovery Museum and stockade here feature information about the two historic battles that took place in the late 18th century. There are various artifacts, and a replica of the original fort built by General Anthony Wayne.

The first picture shows the "replica"(two block houses connected by a wall all done log cabin style) of the original fort. It is encircled by the green rectangle seen on the map when you mouse hover the link.

...Nancy Knapke relates the story of the two battles. The loss in 1791 and win(recovery) in 1794, hence the source for the name of the village.
