The monument is dedicated to all medical professionals participating in the defense and liberation of Sevastopol during the WWII. The monument was open to public on October 29th 1976. A bas-relief (pronounced [baʁəljɛf] ("bah relief") depicting a Nurse kneeling over and supporting a soldier, cut in a slightly angled monolith of rose granite, set on the tri-step foundation. The commemorative inscription appears in the upper part of the monolith. Sculptor: V.E. Sukhanov, Architect: V.M. Artyukhov.
