Cross-Monument, built in 1908-1918 on the site of the murder of Grand Duke Sergei Aleksandrovich (Moscow)

It was restored by sculptor N.V. Orlov based on V.M. Vasnetsov's sketches (the author of a monument) in the reestablished 1998.

Site of remains of the grand duke now - a tomb of boyars of Romanovs (in lower level of the side-altar of the Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy cathedral). They were transferred here in 1995, 10 years after their discovery in an untouched underground crypt on the territory of the former Chudov Monastery which had been located in the Kremlin.
