The Bear River, Wheeler Creek, and Phillips Creek join here to form the Yampa River. The Yampa river flows downstream North from here to Steamboat Springs where it turns west to flow through Hayden and Craig. It flows into the Green River inside Dinosaur National Monument near the Utah border about 250 miles downstream.
