Jivdani Mata Mandir (Virar)

A 'Jagrut Devsthan' of Mataji. Although worshipped by local communities in the beginning, goddess reached fame as Mumbai & near-by area got populated. Now a days Lakhs of devotees pay visit here for Darshan on every holiday & Holy - Day. Initially a small temple was located on the top of a cliff, which caused difficulties for devotees, as the path was hardly 6-8 ft wide at some places near the temple.
Now the Temple Trust has constructed much bigger size temple, starting from the bottom of adjoining cliff, which plans to house residential accommodations for devotees. With much bigger size 'Darshan Area' & better arrangements for the queue, people come here often, as they can have a peaceful 'Darshan' of the goddess.
A rope-way also is constructed for elderly & disabled people.

This Temple, being situated at the highest point in the surrounding & most of the area consists of plains of Vasai creek & Vaitarana River creek, one can have a view of almost 20 km radius around from here. Wonderful thing is - we can receive Mumbai Mobile networks from here, may be because the jammers in local networks do not work at this height.

  • मैं एक पत्रकार हूं और जीवदानी मां के प्रति गहरी आस्था रखता हूं। मां की महिमा आम भक्तों तक पहुंचाने के लिए एक पिछले छह माह से मंदिर के ट्रस्टी से बात करना चाहता हूं, ताकि एक खूबसूरत और जानकारी युक्त लेख लोगों तक पहुंच सके। लेकिन सारे ट्रस्टी लगता है, भूमिगत हो गए हैं। मंदिर के कार्यालय में जो लोग स्टाफ बैठते हैं, वे या तो गैरजिम्मेदार हैं या फिर ट्रस्टी के दिशा निर्देश पर लोगों को भटका रहे हैं। इस संदर्भ में मैं कई बार फोन भी कर चुका हूं और मेल द्वा्रा सारी बातें स्पष्ट कर चुका हूं। मगर कोई जवाब आज तक नहीं आया है।
