The Union, MS rail yard is now Kansas City Souhtern. Earlier it was operated by the Mid South RR, the Illinois Central Gulf and originally the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio. The branch going off to the west originally went to Jackson but was abandoned in favor of the Illinois Central line 20 miles south. Used to be an industry at Sevastapol but that has closed so the line is dead.
