Chelsea Old Church is a parish in the Diocese of London which is part of the Church of England. It stands on the corner of Old Church Street and Cheyne Walkn the district of Chelsea. The church held a private chapel for Sir Thomas More and a tomb which contained his father and two wives. On the night of April 16-17, 1941, during the Blitz in World War II, a heavy air raid by the Luftwaffe (which killed over a thousand civilians) hit the church with a bomb and and almost completely destroyed it. It was re-built in the 1950's.
