This village came to prominence during British period when one of its son Sri Maqsood Ali became the tahsildar of British landlord of Pargana Sultanpur who was popularly called as Forbes Saheb . Sri Maqsood Ali acquired large tracts of land and also built a very beautiful house which was designed by a French Architect. The man was a rustic Indian but had a english test. His house was planned in 200 acres of land with grenaries, mango orchard, family graveyard and some open farm land for farming. Such beautiful plan is worth seeing. The house is virtual fortress but now in a state of neglect because his descendants could not hold it for posterity.
