It is a small village consisting of only marginal farmers with literacy rate of not more than 5% but has history of communal harmony. This village is located at a place which is adjacent to seat of power of Raja of Sahasmal who is said to have dug 30 ponds of all sizes in and around sahasmal village so as to give employment to his people during famines.Most of the villagers are migrant labourers and eaking out their livelihood by working in various parts of india as farm labour or construction worker.
