Ammunitions Depot.
The 260 Company ammunition insures the management and maintenance of the ammunition stored in 270 bunkers, divided over 236 ha.
Also the evacuation and resupply of the Basic Loads of the supported units, as well as storing the new bought ammunition is an important task of the company.
260 Cie Mun is under command of 51 Battalion Logistic te Damme.
The ammunition depot was built by the US Army between 1991 and 1992. The 260th Ammunition Company manages since 1 June 1994. It contains 270 ammunition storage facilities . These so-called igloos were built with walls of 30 cm reinforced concrete and then covered with a layer of earth of a meter thick . According to Defence , they meet the most stringent NATO standards for the storage of explosives. 40 igloos are used for the storage of ammunition of the Air Component.
On Friday morning, July 1, 2011 there was an accident in an igloo then dropped a box of mortar fuses and caused an explosion. Because of this incident, two people were slightly injured. They were transported to the hospital in Libramont
