It was built around 1660 by Matthew Chapman, an Irish/English planter, one of the first settlers on the island. This is the only great house, with all rooms available for viewing. It featuring mahogany antiques, old prints and a unique collection of horse-drawn carriages. The Courtyard Restaurant and bar offer refreshments to visitors daily. The museum is open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm, last tour at 4.30pm. Phone 423-6270, fax 423-5863.
