This picture was taken before the new 500K gallon tower was completed; the one shown dates from 1911 and holds only 150K gallons - it has lasted more than 30 years beyond its design life of 60 year. 2005 was a nail-biter of a year; the then main water tower on top of Carbon Hill failed before the new tower in this park was complete.
