Thethaeri (தெத்தேரி) is a large lake (theth aeri). The lake used to be big straddling between the North and South sides of the Kodikkarai-Thiruthuraipoondi railway tracks. Now the railway tracks have been dismantled and the lake has shrunk in size.

One can still see the the railway tracks just north of the lake (look for a clear line going West to East)
