Discovered 1884 by the Grman archeologist Schweinfurth. Though the function of the pharaonic monument is not certain, it is most probably a temple, presumably from Old Kingdom. Impressive is the contruction out of huge ashlars at the front. From here you have a good view down to the ancient sity of Dime and Lake Qarun.
