Afloated iron ore mine Ejpovice

These low density, low yielded iron ore began mined in Stalin era in 1954. Brown iron ore must be expensive beneficated in retort furnaces by combined of crushing, melting and grindndig to pig iron granula. Only this product could be smelted in blast furnaces. Low productivity, expensiveness, high air pollution by dust and great impact to environmet led to abandon this mining in a short time in late 1960s, when the pollitical pressure was reduced. The mine was gradually afloated and recultivated as well the surrounding great slag heaps, which waste rock was mainly used as road-metal.
