Amnaș, formerly Amlaș, (in the Saxon dialect Hamlesch, Hamleš, in German Hamlesch, Omlesch, in Hungarian Omlás) is a component locality of the town Săliște in Sibiu County, Transylvania, Romania. The year of the first written attestation is 1309 in the form of Omlas.
The feud of Amnaș, known in historiography especially as "Amlaș", included in the Middle Ages several villages, including Săliște, Sibiel, Tilișca and Cacova Sibiului, as well as the village of Galeș, and was traditionally granted by the king of Hungary to the lords over the mountains (Muntenians / Wallachians), which were placed under his protection, as a place of refuge and source of income, next to the Land of Făgăraș (Țara Făgărașului).
