church, monastery
Apart from the monastery Vodita, which was as if reborn, the monastery Saint Ana is one of the youngest in Oltenia. It was built by the renowned journalist and writer Pamfil Seicaru, as a reward to God for saving his life on the battlefield in the war of 1916. The church was built in 1939 and was not yet hollowed when, during the communist regime, has met with a vulgar fate, being transformed in tourist camp. Today is an exemplar monastery, having visitors and, due to its natural ambiance, the monastery being situated on the western hill of Orsova, with an enchanting panorama towards Orsova and the Danube gulf.
