  • Tamparuli was originally named after the "parking lorries place" once upon a time. It is was said there was a very big project to be carried out to link from West Coast (Kota Kinabalu) to Mt Kinabalu & eventually leading to East Coast of Sabah. i used to visit this township during my childhood as I was studying my Primary school in Tuaran township. I had to travel between Tuaran & Tenghilan township & thus I must pass through this Tamparuli place. The most impression in my memory is the flood of Tamparuli river where there is a bridge during British colony time. Today, the Tamparuli bridge is still standing strongly. The last time I visited was only last month. Tamu (baazar) is as usual on weekly Wednesday While Tenghilan on weekly Tursday. Tuaran Tamu is on Sunday!
