Inscrição 1485 Armada Diogo Cão segunda expedição Congo em rochedo sobranceiro rio (prever meia hora a pé a partir chegada margem por barco) .

Les rochers) se situent prés de Matadi , aux bords du fleuve Congo (150 Km de son embouchure).Prévoir une demi heure d´ascension a pied a partir du bord du fleuve et accés par bateau.Ils montrent des inscriptions du temps de la seconde expédition du navigateur portugais Diogo Cão pour établir des contacts avec le Roi du Congo ( suite a une expédition innitiale en 1483 a l`embouchure du fleuve Congo et avant que le même navigateur part au sud jusqu`aux côtes de la Namibie).

The rocks are located very close to Matadi, adjacent to the river Congo, ( 150 Km from its mouth ). Half an hour walk from the shore and access by boat from Matadi. The rocks , with a beautiful panorama over the river, have engravings relating to portuguese navigator Diogo Cao´s second expedition to contact the King of Congo (after an initial expedition in 1483 to the entrance of that river and before further probing of the african coast till Namibia).

Aqui chegaram os navios do esclarecido rei Dom Joam o Segundo de Portugal: Dº Camp, Anes pº da Costa
(trad. “Ici sont venus les navires du Roi Illuminé Jean II du Portugal : Dº Camp Anes pº da Costa” / transl. “Here arrived the ships of the enlighted king John the second of Portugal :Dº Campº Anes pº da Costa ”) .
(noutra rocha/dans un autre rocher/ in a different rock): Álvaro Pires/ Pero Escolar; Antão; João de Santiago; Diogo Álvares (com uma cruz em cima/ avec une croix superimposée /with a cross superimposed).
(numa terceira rocha/ dans un troisième rocher / on a third rock : Gonçalo Álvares, nome que aparece repetido a seguir a uma cruz e à expressão da Doença, escrito, certamente, para assinalar a sua morte / nom repété aprés le signe d´une croix, et les mots “De maladie” signifiant que le navigateur y est décédé / name who is repeated after the design of a cross and the legend “De doença”(“of illness) meaning he died there) .
