A series of hardened and conventional bunkers and storage areas as well as assembly facilities to service the munitions for the former Air Force base. Once fenced and clearly heavily guarded -- a kennel facility sits just outside this area -- the area is now accessible to the public.

  • Hey just wanted to give an update for people who want to check out this Mather AFB Bunker. When my company contacted the Owner/Property Manager he was extremely disrespectful and threatening. It is not open to the public he actually took down my name and company name to warn the rangers and the sheriffs dept that if I am found out there to prosecute me and issue me the $370 fine for trespassing. I never throughout our entire conversation gave him the impression that anything like that would happen which was the whole purpose of our company asking permission and offering proof of our million dollar insurance policy as well as payment to rent the facility for the day for $1000. The guy treated us like we were petty criminals so I would suggest warning anybody that may be interested exploring or doing photos that this guy is very aggressive, disrespectful and will prosecute if you are caught on the property. Here is his name and phone number if anybody would like to call for themselves. Woody 916-812-8729 He is the one who controls everything for the facility.
  • Nick, you are incorrect. I have access to property records for the state and can assure you 100% that the land is owned by the county of Sacramento, with a small two parcels on either side of the road and up to the fence of is privately owned but the road leading into the facility it was used as a dumping facility for non sensitive county records.
