The Outpost Safari Lodge is situated in the most remote part of Kruger National Park, in a wilderness area previously uninhabited by visitors to the Park. The Outpost Safari Lodge is the first lodge in Kruger National Park to be built in this vast region.

The Outpost Lodge accommodates guests in 12 stand alone en-suite living spaces that are placed alongside a walkway on the side of a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River. Each room also consists of a mini bar; mosquito net and remote controlled weather screen. The rooms have modern foldaway glass sides and a frontage offering 180-degree views of the Luvuvhu River Valley.

The Outpost Lodge region in Kruger National Park measures some 28 000 hectares, it is well known for its abundant wildlife including less common species not evident in the southern and central regions of the park.

Apart from large herds of elephant and buffalo, guests will be able to see nyala and tsessebe antelope on their safari in South Africa. The diverse terrain of the region includes Mopane woodlands, Fever tree forests, Acacia thickets as well as some of the largest and oldest Baobab specimens.

The region's rich historical and cultural heritage, can be explored by guided visits to Crooks Corner and the Thulamela archaeological site overlooking the Luvuvhu River. Articles dating from 1460 to 1640 have been found tying them to the last phase of the Zimbabwe culture. Guests can also visit a Makuleke Village and learn about the history of the Makuleke people under the guidance of a Makuleke guide.

Guests are offered a choice of a long / short game drive in the morning and again in the mid afternoon for their safari in South Africa. River safaris offer game spotting in the silence of The Outpost's flat-bottomed boat.
