Bhai Pratap's Samadhi & NRM Library (Adipur)

India / Gujarat / Gandhidham / Adipur / Adipur, 4265

Shri Pratap Dialdas, resident of Mumbai was familiar to great leaders like Vallabhbhai Patel and Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. After partition of India & Pakistan in 1947, he visited Kutch District with a dream to develop twin township of Adipur and Gandhidham for Sindhi Community particularly who left Pakistan and came down to India empty handed. He requested Mahatma Gandhi to request King of Kutch to grant land for development of dream city. The King was kind enough to grant 15000 acres of land to the company of Bhai Pratap "the Sindhu Resettlement Corporation Ltd". Bhai desired that he would need only 2600 acres of land and thus rest of the land was given to Kandla Port Trust and Gandhidham Development Authority for development and management. The SRC Ltd and KPT have jointly turned a jungle into dream towns known as Gandhidham Kandla Complex. Today land value is touching the sky. It is not possible for a middle man to own a house in this area.
