The Whitby Abbey Walk is made up of two parts: 199 steps, and a very steep hill (separated by a fence). Fabulous views of Whitby from above the 40th step of the 199 steps!
The steps lead up to St Mary's Church and are 82m (270ft) long, and the cobbled hill path leads up to the ruins and the visitor centre, and is 150m (492ft) long.
According to the popular legend, Dracula is supposed to be buried beneath these steps.
