  • A factory established in 1923 which closed down in the year 2006 . Started of with a locomotive boiler running a overhead pully shaft which then transmitted power to the various machines such as the pug mill and the mixer though a belt driven countershaft .Tile presses were screw driven and manually operated. The locomotive (steam boiler) had a steam horn which could be heard at a five mile radius and was for many people the only way of telling the time. Employed over a hundred workers in its heyday. The product was transported by boat, lorry and bullock cart to villages throughout goa
