Park Sami Abdulrahman (Sami Abdulrahman Park) is the official name of this park. It is named after the late Sami Abdulrahman, who was killed in a terrorist act while being KRG Deputy Prime Minister. This park was one of the main achievements of late Sami Abdulrahman.
Being the largest park in Iraq, it is several hectares in size and contains a lake, rose garden and the Martyrs Monument as well as a restaurant and market. The site was formerly the location of a detention center.

  • I am from Erbil and this is first time to know that Kosrat Rasul Ali is related to this Park. Officially it is called Sami Abdulrahman Park, after the name of the late Sami Abdulrahman, KRG Deputy Prime Minister at the time martyred by terrorists.
  • this was my favourite place in hawler ... Its just so amazing when you see so many people there walking in this parc and having fun with their family.
