The Nyingma Institute was founded by Tarthang Tulku, a Tibetan Lama who came to the United States in 1969. The institute devotes itself to establishing a foundation for Buddhism in the West. Students come from around the world, including professionals in many fields, people from all walks of life, and of all ages. No religious commitment is required to participate at Nyingma Institute. Introductory and advanced programs are available in five fields of study.
