  • From what I understand, this is the only datacenter in VA that is outside of the 50-mile nuclear risk zone of DC, as well as, outside the 50-mile nuclear evacuation route of Lake Anna Nuclear Power Plant. Further, Harrisonburg has a clear history as serving as a DR site (Hurricane Isabelle knocking out 80% of Dominion VA's customers in Culpeper, Charlottesville, and Richmond in 2003. Clearly DBT DATA chose this site for these purposes. Great Decision!
  • I visited this site and DBT DATA clearly has a good thing going. They have already purchased 9 2.5MW Caterpillar generators and all of the additional electrical equipment and it is currently being installed. Other than DFT in NOVA, I don't know of any other facilities that will be able to deliver large amounts of space in a relatively short period of time. Should be interesting to see which users sign leases here in 2009 - would be willing to bet that government users would be very interested in this location
