Govidyapeetham was established under the auspices of “The Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Trust” and thanks
to the blessings and guidance of P.P. Sadguru Shree AniruddhaBapu. Situated amid the beautiful natural environs of
Kothimbe and spread over about 18 acres of land, Govidyapeetham is a mere half an hour drive from the city of Karjat
(Raigad district) and can also be accessed from Panvel, Neral and even via Kadav. An aerial view of the topography
presents Govidyapeetham in the shape of the ear of a cow (Gokarna). The main entrance of Govidyapeetham faces the
Sahyadari Mountains and the old fort of Pet Village constructed during Chhatrapati Shivaji’s times. Beyond the mountains,
lies the ‘BheemaShankar Jyotirling’. An idol of Shree Ganesh established by an ancient sage is also to be found in the
Kadav Village. Not very far, in the village of Jarukh are the caves that date back to the era of the Pandavas.
