St. George church

This church was erected as a Benedictine monastery in 1046. The present structure took shape in 1477. Inside the church there are remarkable 16th Century paintings by Venetian masters. These include: ‘Martyrdom of St. George’ by Veronese, and the ‘Baptism of Christ’ and ‘Pentecoste’ by Tintoretto.
